Final Setlist
August 4th, 2008 | Posted in Rumours, Setlist

Madonna Tribe have posted the following update on Madonna’s setlist for the tour:

And here’s our latest update on the Sticky & Sweet track list. We heard that the list of songs that we report below is basically the FINAL one and it includes video and live interludes. But before going into it, here are some exclusive tidbits on what we will be seeing and hearing during this great show!

The show features
four main section. The show opener, Candy Shop, has now a longer intro compared to the promo tour version. A musical intro a la Drowned World Tour, with bits and pieces of song form Hard Candy that we will be hearing later in the show fades into the “C-A-N-D-Y” intro from the promo tour.

The clock ticking theme from 4 minutes can be heard several times during the show. In the show intro, in Vogue and in the “Get Stupid” interlude, which reminds of the Confessions Tour’s Sorry Video interlude. In Get Stupid there are samples of Give It 2 Me, 4 Minutes and Beat Goes On and it’s about our chance to save our planet from the various damages we created.

The use of music samples is very big on this tour. Many of the classic hits are musically re-arranged as mash-ups and the songs are sung on musical tracks heavely sample-ing other dance songs. Like A Prayer, for example, which, as previously reported by M-Tribe, has entered the set list is now replacing Impressive Instant and it’s delivered using musical parts of the 1992 dance hit by Felix “Don’t You Want Me”.

Into The Groove, that contains a small sample of Madonna’s Jump, is also delivered using musical parts of another dance song “Toop Toop” by Cassius, while Borderline is a great “rocky/ska” re-invention of the classic 1983 ballad.

The first video interlude, a fast and speeded up version of the James Bond theme Die Another Day, features exclusive new footage of Madonna as a boxeur, from the brand new photoshoot by Tom Munro for the Tour Book.

The second video interlude mashes up Madonna’s Rain with the Eurythmics’ Here Comes The Rain Again, using their original version and leading to Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You. Originally supposed to play the piano herself on this song, Madonna will now be placed on the piano, reminessing a bit the Sooner Or Later performance from Blond Ambition.

Into The Groove - Sticky & Sweet Version

Here is the alleged studio version of “Into The Groove” from the upcoming tour.  It’s very Pharrell-esque.  I likes it.

Sticky & Sweet DVD
August 1st, 2008 | Posted in Rumours

Drowned Madonna’s reader Afonso asked Live Nation about the Sticky & Sweet Tour DVD.

Here is what they told him:

The Sticky & Sweet Tour DVD will be recording in Madison Square Garden, New York City.
October, 11 and October 12.

This would make sense, as Madison Square Garden is one of the few venues on the tour that she is playing for multiple, consecutive nights, and can be filmed multiple times to provide different camera angles, coverage, and edit out any problems or errors.

Britney and Madge get even closer this time
July 11th, 2008 | Posted in Rumours, Setlist

From The Sun, on Britney’s appearance in the Sticky & Sweet Tour.  They seem to think Britney will perform a mash-up of her song “Piece Of Me” with M’s “Beat Goes On”

“THEY will need to invent a 27th letter of the alphabet to classify this.

If you thought MADONNA and BRITNEY SPEARS’ snog at the MTV Awards in 2003 was X-rated, their latest collaboration makes that look tame.

The Sun revealed on Saturday how the Queen Of Pop and its fallen princess will join forces forMadonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour

Now details of their sessions have reached me — and they are hotter than the Los Angeles police on Britney driving the wrong way up a one-way street with both her sons on her lap.

The pair’s sexy shenanigans will be broadcast to the crowd on Madge’s upcoming world tour via 20ft screens. What a terrifying thought. I hope Britney doesn’t ask if her bum looks big on that.

They will perform a mash-up of Madge track Beat Goes On and Britney’s Piece Of Me, while they are unwrapped from costumes that can only be described as bondage mummy.

The pop duo will be wrapped in BANDAGES which will then be unravelled by leather thong-clad male dancers in scenes that would put even RUSSELL BRAND’s moral compass in a spin.

An on-set source revealed: “It’s absolutely classic Madonna. Probably the raunchiest stuff she has ever done. It leaves nothing to the imagination and will be very controversial.

Britney and Madonna are unwrapped like mummies, to appear together almost naked apart from tiny leather bondage pants and knee-high boots.

“They then dance closely together, pressing their hands and bodies together.

“There will be big rows over whether it is sexy, shocking or both.”

Britney has been filming scenes at a Hollywood studio and was snapped leaving a nearby hair salon looking more spruced up than she has for ages.

It’s good that Madonna is helping her rebuild her career, but I’m still not convinced I’m ready to see her stripped down to her smalls.

The Toxic singer will also perform to Madge’s 1995 track Human Nature.

And in one scene to be broadcast during the tour — which opens in Cardiff on August 23 — Britney loses her mind after getting stuck in a lift in a short film by New York photographer STEVEN KLEIN

The source added: “We’ll see Spears going crazy in an enclosed space — screaming, pulling her hair and banging her fists on the lift walls as it’s stuck between floors.

“She really loses it.”

The Latest Setlist
July 11th, 2008 | Posted in Rumours, Setlist

Madonna continues rehearsals for her Sticky and Sweet Tour, which is to feature a cameo from Britney Spears herself. Although the shoot was troubled with set issues, it has been officially confirmed by Madonna’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, and Britney’s manager, Larry Rupolph. The video will show Britney dressed in a hoodie going mental in an elevator (probably not too difficult for our Brit Brit), before she turns to the camera and says her newest catchphrase, “It’s Britney, Bitch!

The working setlist has been updated to incorporate a few changes, and I will post the current line-up after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Together Again - Britney And Madonna
July 5th, 2008 | Posted in Rumours

It’s a huge news day! Some of you may have heard that Madonna has been tweaking the setlist for the Sticky and Sweet Tour, and has dropped atleast one of her old classics, replacing it with “Human Nature”, her commentary on the media’s treatment of her from the “Bedtime Stories” album. Quite why, I had no clue. Apparantly “Human Nature” had been rerecorded for 2008 and was sounding amazing. People were excited, again I was missing the point.

So here’s the ‘OMFG bend me over and do me several times your madgesty’, moment. The new version of “Human Nature” has been adapted as a commentary on young Hollywood today, and features samples from Britney’sGimme More“. As if that wasn’t enough, tomorrow Britney herself will join Madonna in New York to film a new video backdrop for the song. Britney and Madonna together again! It’s magical!!

And as if that wasn’t enough to get your weekend off to a toe-tingling start, reports also suggest that as part of Britney’s mission to rebuild her career, she will join Madonna on a few select nights of the Sticky and Sweet Tour to perform the song LIVE! Wooo! I’d rather have a gyrating Britney than an unshaved Justin any day.

Setlist Spoilers
July 3rd, 2008 | Posted in Rumours, Setlist

The following is a quote on the working setlist of the Sticky & Sweet Tour, from Madonna Tribe:

Ok here we go!! Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour opens with Candy Shop (verysimilar to the promo tour version) followed by a version of Beat Goes On very similar to the album version. Both Pharrell Williams and Kanye West will appear onvideo during the song. The third song in the setlist is the first GREAT surprise. It’s the one and only Human Nature, from Bedtime Stories (and we’ll not be sorry!!). The song will be presented in an original and UNIQUE way, but that’s a surprise we don’t want to spoil for the moment. We’re sure the inclusion of this song will make lots of people very happy.

Section two of the show includes Into The Groove, a great number where she will be jumping rope with a little sample of the song “Jump” thrown in as well, followed byHeartbeat. The Fedde Le Grande version of Music, (just like the promo tour version) and She’s Not Me follow.

The following section will opens with the song Devil Would Recognize You, Madonna will sing it live and play the piano onstage HERSELF for the very first time! After that we go into Miles Away, just like the promo tour, and a joyful version Spanish Lesson. Her great classic from True Blue arrives next: It’s La Isla Bonita that will be presented in its ”Live Earth incarnation”, the Lela Pala Tute version!!! This third section is closed by one of the songs by Madonna that won an Oscar. It’s the touching“You Must Love Me”, the beautiful ballad from Evita, written by Tim Rice and Andrew Loydd Webber especially for Madonna in the film. This version is more or less very similar to its original form.

The closing section of the tour includes the promo tour version of 4 Minutes followed by one of the greatest surprises fans will adore: Impressive Instant from the “Music” album!! Ray of Light follows. It’s basically the album version with some changes in the middle. The promo tour version of Hung Up is next. The tour closes with the latest single from Hard Candy, Give It 2 Me

But that’s not all folks! Madonna is also doing a great classic for her first album and she’s doing it for the first time since the Virgin Tour. It’s “Borderline” that will bepresented like it has never been heard before and don’t forget to look out for the great tour videos that will be directed by Steven Klein, as previously reported by MadonnaTribe!!”

Sticky & Sweet Setlist Take II
June 18th, 2008 | Posted in Rumours, Setlist

Following my original post of the preliminary setlist for Madonna’s “Sticky And Sweet Tour”, Perez Hilton has followed up with an image of the latest setlist, which he says comes from a very reliable source.

I will post the setlist after the jump, for anyone who doesn’t mind a few spoilers. Whilst it is different to the original setlist, some parts remain the same, so I think this is definitely the kind of direction she is going in. She’s bringing back a whole heap of songs that she’s avoided recently too, which makes it all the more exciting.

Madonna’s Sticky And Sweet For Heatherette
June 6th, 2008 | Posted in Costumes, Rumours

For anyone who missed the memo, Heatherette are a New York based design duo who became huge when Sex and the City megastar stylist Patricia Field bought 20 of one of their designs at first sight. Since then it’s been a ride up a gloriously trashy trail.

Heatherette have dressed the likes of drags queens, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. Yeah, they really got that drag queen thing down. Their stuff is an orgasm of colour, sequins and tatters served up in the form of club wear. If anyone wants to buy me some Heatherette, I won’t say no.

This has not gone un-noticed by the once queen of New York, and now Queen Of Pop, Madonna, who has asked the Heatherette boys to knock up some stuff for the Sticky And Sweet Tour. Amazing.

Liz Rosenberg, her publicist, just contacted us and said that she wants us to come up with some sketches, some ideas and some inspirations for her tour,” Richie Rich explained. “I think, basically, for Madonna’s tour, we’ll come up with some sketches, some inspirations and listen to the album to get some ideas, and as young designers, we’ll come up with what we think is happening right now. That’s why Madonna’s a genius — she picks out the new blood, and we’ll see what happens. She already did the cowboy hat, so we’ll need to think of something else,” Rich joked.

Madonna is definitely into this whole candy coloured, modern punk fashion wave. Just take a look at the teeshirt merch from the upcoming tour. Me wanty:

Continuing the drag queen theme, Heatherette have recently teamed up with Mac Cosmetics (the drag make-up of choice), to launch their own cross-branded make-up. The collection is all hot sparkles and strong pigments. And the packaging is like a big gay disco. Fabulous.

On the 23rd of August, 2008, Madonna begins her eighth and biggest world tour to date, "The Sticky & Sweet Tour 2008". Following 2006's record breaking "Confessions Tour", which saw Madonna descending from the ceiling inside a giant glitter ball, straddling a robotic horse and being crucified upon a disco cross, "The Sticky & Sweet Tour" is set to be bigger, and better.

In anticipation of this legendary event, this Daneeeboy.com site is dedicated to keeping you up to date on all the news, rumours and sugary goodness.
